9 Hottest Pakistani Women

The Story Covered by Complex.com
They wrote "This Friday, August 14th, marks Pakistan’s 62nd year as an Independent state free from the United Kingdom. But if you watched CNN, Fox News or MSNBC (maybe BBC) you wouldn’t know that due to all the turmoil that’s been plaguing the Muslim-majority nation—US missile strikes, Taliban militant attacks, etc. But, whatever, we don’t want to air the country’s dirty laundry at time when Pakistanis are celebrating everything that’s great about their nation. Wewould like to join in on the recognition in our own special, Complex way. To help celebrate their Independence Day, we’ve put together a list of the 9 hottest Pakistani women to ever do… anything. It won’t help bring about peace, but looking at them can surely ease your mind for a couple minutes"

#9: DEEYAH
CLAIM TO FAME: Dubbed the “Muslim Madonna”, this Punjabi singer, composer and human rights activist came under fire from Muslims for her aggressive style of dress and her supposed negative influence on young Muslim women. Now all she has to do is swap spit with a couple musicians and athletes and the American Madonna would be proud.

#8: VANEEZA AHMED
CLAIM TO FAME: This former medical student dabbled in modeling as a hobby only to become one the most prominent and sought after models in the country. When asked about her love of the job, she professed: “I could lie about it and say I’m in this field for the love of art. But I admit that I’m doing it for money.” So if you hire her, when she’s done, don’t be amazed if she ask where the cash at!

#7: MEHREEN RAHEEL
CLAIM TO FAME: One of Pakistan’s leading models, Mehreen became the national face of various brands including Lipton and Head & Shoulders. If she wasn’t always so conservatively dressed, we’d like to see her head, shoulders and two’s.

#6: IMAN ALI
CLAIM TO FAME: One of the few Pakistani models to break beyond the borders, Iman gained fame in India by working with several Indian designers.

#5: NEHA AHMED
CLAIM TO FAME: The 25-year old model disobeyed her father’s wishes when she started modeling in Pakistan, then Dubai, Paris and London. You know what they say about girls with father issues: pipe ‘em, don’t wife ‘em

#4: SOMY ALI
CLAIM TO FAME: Pakistan’s renaissance woman moved to Bombay, India to model and work in movies before moving to America to get a degree in Psychology, a masters in Print Journalism and a film degree from NYU. After producing documentaries about teen suicide and abortion she became greatly involved with woman’s rights issues in South Asia. She’s official like a referee’s whistle. Bring your A game.

#3: YASMEEN GHAURI
CLAIM TO FAME: Nicknamed “The Panther” due to her poise and exaggerated catwalk stroll, the half German, half Pakistani, Yasmeen went against Muslim tradition and began modeling at age 17. Her dissidence payed off as she became a Victoria Secrets model as well as Valentino, Versace, Hermes and Lanvin. She also posed for Playboy where she really let the cat out of the bag.

#2: TOOBA SIDDIQUI
CLAIM TO FAME: Tooba isn’t one of the most famous models in Pakistan, but she’s certainly one of the baddest.

#1: SUNEETA MARSHALL
CLAIM TO FAME: After being introduced to the modeling world by her aunt, Suneeta landed spots in commercials and ads for Garnier Fructis, Pantene, Head and Shoulders and countless Pakistani designers. But before she did all that she got a commerce degree from Karachi’s St Patrick’s College. Brains and Beauty (and then hopefully more brains).

Munib Nawaz Debut Fashion Show in Karachi

Munib Nawaz’s debut solo show was a declaration of masculine identity, something that was proudly declared in the fact that this was the first solo menswear show taking place within Pakistan in the past twenty five years. It came five years after the menswear designer had formally launched his label (though he has been dabbling in fashion much longer), 97 music videos after he had taken a lateral route to recognition by designing wardrobes for musicians and several months after hitting the runways of Miami Fashion Week, bringing back an award for Best Menswear Designer. Munib truly has never been slotted in the top tier of men’s fashion in Pakistan but with this show, he proved that he has all the right to rock on up.
